Tarot isn’t a game, they are a tool for guidance, insight, psychic & personal development as well as meditation.

You use the cards that are at the top of the deck once you have shuffled. You do not pick the cards.

As you are new to the tarot the Celtic Cross is best left as it is complex. A single card will be easier.

You use all of the cards for a celtic cross spread. All you do is shuffle them up while focusing on something that you want to know more about, then when your done shuffling separate the deck into three individual decks and put it back together in anyway that you want, then you can deal them.

You should have cards with swords, wands, cups, coins, and other non-suite ones like The Sun.

Also, if while you’re shuffling a card falls out of the deck, it probably means that card is wanting to tell you something, so just put it aside and read it after you finish the celtic cross.

Some people can use them and others can’t. You just have to get comfortable with your own individual deck and basically just have the knack for it because otherwise you get cards that are just wayyy off.

Personally, I’ve only had a few circumstances where I dealt them and the cards were actually right at predicting how the rest of my night turned out.
Honestly, I think the cards just read how you are feeling right then in there (like reading your sub-conscious), so if your mood changes throughout the day I think they could come out completely off.

They’re nothing to really rely on or are all that “freaky” as some people think. It’s just a nice occasional reflection of your current situation in your life — probably won’t show anything you don’t already know.

Aries actually rules the Emperor card, it is Uranus that rules The Fool card
Uranus’ brief description is Modern thought, Experimentation, New ideas
Where Aries is Active, Demanding, Determined, Effective, Ambitious- sounds more like an Emperor than a Fool

IIRC, you use the entire deck. Choose one of the court cards (Page, Knight, Queen or King of one of the 4 suits — Pentacles, Cups, Swords, or Wands) as the significator to represent the person asking the question. then have the questioner shuffle the deck, and deal out the 10 cards for the Celtic Cross spread.

BTW, its not a “game”.

I never connected with the RW deck.
I found decks with themes of things that I already have an interest in.
For a long time I used the Legends deck which is about King Arthur & Camelot.
I'm not sure what you mean by keying, but as a signifier goes, there are a few ways.
One way is to choose a Court card that is most like the person being read for.
Another way is to use the persons birthday and the Majors.
Example- someone born on 4-18-1972
add the numbers up until you have a number between 1 and 22; 22 being 0 the Fool
4+18+1972=1994 1+9+9+4=23 2+3=5
5 being The Hierophant
a person with the birthdate of 11-30-1942 would add up to 22 (Fool), which can be reduced to 4, the Emperor if this card seems more fitting.

Because of his silences many look down on the Fool. However, the Fool is a Seeker who holds what he learns in his mind until he has perfect knowledge and usage of that Learning.

Here is a poem of the Fool in one of my plays in which the Tarot is an important part.

I be the Fool, though I do not drool,
as some around me do.
The tales I tell, from my lonely cell,
speak jabber wocky new.
High crystal road, when heavy strode,
breaks tinkling like a bell.
Then human minds, like old pork rinds,
do slowly go to gel.

When I have a new deck I like to go through making sure they are in order and all there. I've had brand new still in packaging decks missing a card, or having a miss print. After I know they are in order and all there I deal them one at a time into 7 piles. I like to do this to give me a chance to look at all the cards and to start to get them into a random order. I then start shuffling adding a pile at a time until I'm shuffling the entire deck. I think this really gets my energy into the cards and also gives me the time to play with them. Personally I don't think it's necessary, but it's nice.

As for a Significator, I use a separate deck and chose a card the I feel feels like where I am right now. I choose from the entire deck. I will also sometimes chose a card that show what I want to create in my self and use this as a final card. So I have a signigicator that I start with, drawn the cards for the spread, and place my chosen end card as the final card. I like to use a separate deck for a few reasons; the two main ones are:
1. I'm not removing a card from the readings in case it has something to show me, and if it does match one of my chosen cards I take that as having additional meaning and weight.
2. It gives me an opportunity to use a deck I may love the art of, but don't really use for readings.
I don't use significators for the majority of my readings.

You can of course add extra ritual to all of this, you can place the deck in the light of the moon the night before you do this. Message a special oil into your hands before starting, I use sandalwood. Light a candle. Say a prayer. Do a calling ritual. Anything that fits with your spirit and feels right. None of it however is necessary. If you think the deck is yours it is.

Just starting out.
On a journey, starting an adventure.
Don't know where you're going, but you are just going and not looking nor paying attention to what's beneath. Notice the huge drop as the fool is on a cliff.
Not paying attention to any warnings or signals. Will learn from mistakes. Don't know your direction or which way to go, as clothes seem to unmatch and be miscoordinated and or backwards. Just starting off. Just starting things off. Don't know where it will take you but you're just starting.

The astrological sign Aries is associated with the Fool. The first sign in the zodiac and the first card in the tarot deck.

You can use any deck for the celtic cross spread. The “classic” deck is the Rider-Waite, but there are hundreds of others. Get yourself a good book on tarot interpretation.

With that in mind im not sure what you mean by 'keying'?

Significators are a matter of choice, some do not like to take an important card from the deck. A significator doesnt always have to be a court card either.

From a court card pospective you can use them from an astrological, colouring or personality view point. Make sure that you only choose one if your new to tarot or it can get confusing.

what cards do you use for the celtic cross card spread tarot game?
im just learning how to use tarot cards. i dont know which cards to use for the celtic cross card spread tarot game. okay there are cards in my deck with only pictures and no words. most of the pictures have swards. im not sure if i use these im the celtic cross game. does anyone know?

I've never had a professional palm reading (though from what I have learned of it, it's meant for such long-term fortunetelling that it would be years before one ever would find out if the reading was accurate!) I have contacted a couple psychics, one I'm sure was a fraud who did nothing but cold-read — that is, say a bunch of general information that would apply to anyone — and then told me I should buy a $200 spell from her. Then I went to another one, I've been back to her again since she was actually good, named Madisun. She's been accurate for me so far, she's pretty good with predictions. I also have a friend who is a medium, if I tell him to talk to my spirit guide he can give good readings — otherwise he just talks to any spirit, and they don't always know useful things.

There is only one I have confidence in. She has uncanny intuition. The first time she gave me a reading I was careful not to offer any information that would enable a cold reading. She never fished for information or made safe guesses. She never told me what she thought I wanted to hear or made general statements that could apply to anyone. She is always right up front and very accurate. She is also a very warm and real person. There is nothing phony about her. I see her about once a year and she has never disappointed me. It's not easy to find the real thing, and there are plenty of fakes and wannabes. I've also had readings from others and they were never right. The others played the game well, but they weren't the real thing.
