The only time I had an encounter with a psychic was sort of against my will as a young woman in my 20's. She was a friend of a friend, and although I told them I was against it because of my belief, they went ahead and sort of "forced" it onto me. I felt like it wasn't that big of a deal, so I let her read my cards.

She did the flipping the cards part, and started off with a smile, but I think she ate some bad queso because she got sick to her stomach and had to leave.

She was gorgeous, Romanian Gypsy, and wrong. I noticed her watching me with her husband. We were all at a Halloween party. After she asked around about me, she then gave me a "palm reading". She had noticed I was left handed and said "give me your right hand". When I gave her my right hand she said "I said your right hand" and I said "It is". She said "Then you must be left handed". I said "Yeah, the coffee cup must be a dead give away".

Her reading was zero, her predictions zero. All she told me was what she had learned from others. Once she realized I was onto her scam, she and her husband exchanged glances and walked off.

But hey, any time a young, pretty Romany woman wants to hold my hand, I'm all for it.

My husband and I both had a reading a couple of years ago when we were considering starting a business. She told us we would have an east-facing awning and there would be something to do with an eagle. We ended up in a building with a window facing east (with an awning) and a couple of months after we opened, we realized a tattoo shop nearby has a big eagle on its front window. She also tuned into my affinity for all things Arctic… something she could never have had any clue about. This was in the hottest part of July, and for her to come up with "arctic" was just bizarre. It made shivers run up and down my spine.
