Walked past this beautiful tree.
Such a great example of the trees roots being laid and it still standing tall when most of all around it has crumbled away.
Use that as a metaphor for your life…
Have a great Sunday,

MAIDENHEAD SPIRITUALIST CHURCH (THURSDAYS)
Having for a while sat at the back each Thursday as a spectator at Maidenhead Spiritualist Church (and having attended a few of the workshops there which I do highly recommend) I was happy and honoured to be asked if I would like to chair a Thursday evening there (as it turns out it will be more). It went well and was happy to help.

Swedish Pop Star Tove Lo – 2017
Tove Lo, “Sweden’s darkest pop export”…an artist frequently played in my car both by myself and my young ladies. on the school run (well it was just not so much now). Other than her, pop does not appeal to me whatsoever. The album ‘Queen of the Clouds’, overplayed and always enjoyed by all (well at least by me otherwise there is conflict in the car over music choices on the school run – its that or Little Mix and there is little chance of that happening).
Whilst busy packing to move house in July 2017, I got the call to give a demonstration for a private party held in London. The initial answer was a “no” as was way too busy. Lets just say that I was convinced otherwise after some hefty arm twisting….at the end of the day, money talks.
I arrived, got ready then I spotted a scantly dressed woman in the crowd. Surely not, “is that who I think it is over there” I asked my partner in a very childish way, as if a young lad had seen his soccer hero in person. “Who” she replied. Upon a brief debate over whether it was her or not I then went over and asked.
And yes, it was. It was her cousins birthday party!
Totally star struck (having met many stars this was a first) I motioned my partner over and armed with a camera (smartphones are so handy) she clicked away at a mature man acting like a child around this very down to earth likeable pop star.
At the end of the demonstration to which she happily participated in, she came over explaining it was her first experience in this domain , quite a weird and a very strange experience. “That was brilliant”….a very happy Tove Lo and an even happier middle-aged man, adding this to the list of the more notable demonstrations I have performed over the years.
At the end of the night, it was back to the car where her CD was in the player….I finally met the Swedish pop star Tove Lo 🙂

When looking at a situation that is not so good, the well known quote “is the glass half empty or half full” often gets mentioned as a different way to look at or judge a situation. Regardless of which way you want to look at the glass…it still has water in it. Until the moment when the glass is bone dry, there is still always hope.
What we focus on can change dramatically change how we see life and how we react to the various challenges life can throw at us.
A more complex situation can be ten people witnessing a car accident and ten different witness statements being given as evidence. The ten people will all see the same accident but all ten statements will be different (to whatever degree).
As per the example of the half glass of water being empty (or full), we all view things differently due to what we focus on and how we interpret the information that is viewed.
Sometimes we just see what we want to see (and that is a long story) and sometimes not see what is right in front of you. All that we see is up for interpretation and is viewed differently by everyone. We need to open our eyes more with life in general so we notice the things that have possibly been missed.
You may be surprised.

Who can see spirits?
Young children have “imaginary friends.” So what is an imaginary friend? It’s either one of two things:
• A solid imagination that a child has as opposed to an adult (unless under hypnosis).
• Spirits around us that are being seen by a child that as of that point has not been conditioned yet to being ‘not real’.
The general or majority consensus is that ghosts don’t exist, a state and belief that is conditioned through daily life. We see what we want to see or in this case (or not) we don’t see what we don’t believe.
We can from an early stage of life un-condition this way via following different beliefs/faiths leading to spirits becoming clear showing they do exist. This is where spirit communication via the different methods sits. This is just a very brief short text and at a later date I will write a blog accordingly of how I see things.
I am of the belief we all have it within us and all can learn it. I don’t know why someone is supposedly special with a gift given to just a select few. I think we all can and it takes an event to kick it up the bum (too long to write the explanation re that on here or takes training (like at a spiritualist church) to access what we all have. By believing in it we are therefore not working against it. It’s much like a radio, you tune in. ‘Natural’ I think is aware of it earlier. It will therefore usually run in the family so naturally it’s not conditioned away from the ability to be able to. If from birth and it’s only given to a select few, how can people be trained with success and with credible evidence. This is just a view yet know one can state for sure anyway is right or wrong…it’s just an opinion.
So, who can see spirits is a long debate and part 2 will be looking into this question a lot deeper…

Should UK Psychic Medium services be paid for?
“A genuine Psychic Medium is not real if they charge money.”
Whilst reading the many posts on blogs and comments on websites, I have seen time after time numerous complaints or a general negative view on the topic as to whether a Psychic Medium should charge for their services or not. The general consensus is that if they are ‘genuine’ they should not. I sort of understand the point being made but for the reasons I will state below, I think this is a flawed view and I personally do not agree with Psychic Mediums not being paid.
Time is Money!!!!
Would you work for free or give up your spare time for free?
Yes, in some cases people do but it is rare. Yes, charities and to help those in financial crises, this is an ethic I have employed whilst working as a Psychotherapist and as a Psychic Medium. As long as any room hire and petrol is covered and a client is in provable hardship, no further charge will be given to them. I do try to help people in this situation but do not expect others to work this way. The only exception to this is as long as I have paying clients surrounding these non paid readings, I can offer this service to those in hardship. We all have a mortgage to pay!
This is not a justification as to why I charge, because yes, as you see above, I do. But as you will see, I have good reason as to why a Psychic Medium or Psychic should charge for their services. Stated below are
the various different types of Psychic Mediums (and Psychics) and how the topic of charging applies (or not).
The Trained UK Psychic Medium Services
If they have been formally trained, courses cost money. Whilst I dispute the effectiveness of a trained Psychic Medium (or Spiritual Medium) by a stereotypical home study course (the type you see advertised on the internet for £19.95), today’s post is just in relation to the monetary aspect of all so I will cover the effectiveness in a later post. The fact that money has been paid out, whether it be a large or small amount leads to the argument back that if they have spent money to train and gain a skill, why should they not charge? With any service offered to the general public, a charge usually applies unless it is a charity of some sort. Some Psychic Mediums have paid hundreds and into thousands (or just £19.95!) for the training and need to claw back the vast monies spent. Fair?
The Untrained UK Psychic Medium Services
If the Psychic Medium has what is termed ‘a gift’, the type that is stated as ‘a natural’ or ‘from birth’ (the type that state their mother and grandmother “read the tea leaves” etc) the rule of time is money still applies. And this I stand firm by.
If someone offered me anything for free, the perceived value and expectation would be diminished. Does anybody offer a professional service for free. Personally, any reading offered for little or no money would be subject to the above scrutiny….where is the confidence in the reader if they could not charge for their services?
The ‘Just For Fun’ UK Psychic Medium Services
As a UK Psychic Medium, communication with the dead either takes place or not. And unfortunately there are plenty on the various sociable medium platforms and USA streets that cannot. With that said, I am led to believe that there are plenty that claim they can but for sure can’t with the sole intention to prey on fragile, desperate and grieving people but again, this will be covered on a future post. Just for fun implies just giving it a go. For that reason they should not be paid for incorrect information that is (or is not) brought up and could potentially be harmful. There is a big responsibility with Psychic Mediums and again will write a longer post about the various psychological states a grieving human can be in when they have lost someone. Like most areas of life, this should be left to a professional and for this reason, somebody just playing about with it should not be paid and should not be doing it in the first place.
So back to “a genuine Psychic Medium shouldn’t charge money or they are not real.” I personally think it is more the other way around but like everything in this world, it is there to be abused and yes, the Psychic industry certainly is. I am sure there are exceptions but I am just broadly speaking and this is just a personal view. So if a lovely old lady offers you a free reading for fun, if you are grieving I would be inclined to pass on the offer.
But unfortunately, just because they charge for the service doesn’t make them legitimate, I just disagree that if they don’t do it for free they are therefore not the real deal 🙂

Trusted Mediums? Now that is a question that can bring on much debate. So for the moment, put aside any personal beliefs and lets run with the notion that you would like to connect to a beloved family member ‘in spirit’.
Go back many years ago and there was the Séance, an organised gathering with a medium and a number of people all connecting hands around the table in an attempt to contact the dead. Much of the time it was only contacting the ‘living’, but that is another story! Now there is the explosion of the many social media platforms where anybody can be anything and have an audience….and with the possibility of a huge worldwide audience at no cost.
Whichever social platform is your favourite for the month, simply use #psychicmedium and a large array will fill your screen with some Mediums charging for their services (I fall into this category but that is not the reason for this post) and many others offering for free. Whilst offering any service for free is admirable, the reason for this post (how to tell if a Medium is genuine or not) makes me question the motivation of a free Mediumship reading.
Some may say this logic is upside down as I have read many saying “if they are genuine they should not ask for money”! Now, we all have to live and we all have bills to pay. Would you rather have a reading from someone that works in McDonald’s during the day (and there is nothing wrong with working in McDonald’s) or a experienced professional that’s does this day in day out? If you do not agree with my view, we are all entitled to one and the rest of this post may seem pointless to you. I respect that.
The main exception is the Church of Spiritualism and any service connected with them. They believe in the continual existence of spirit (where I am an avid spectator weekly at my local church). Readings are given as part of a service with just a minimal charge as an entrance fee. The Mediums they use have been trained and given the thumbs up to work the church circuit.
Regardless of being a professional spirit communicator or the part time ‘give it a go’ Medium, the following will give you some pointers as which way (or not) to go when choosing your Psychic Medium or Spirit Medium (and the difference between the two will be explored on a later post). Trusted Mediums….can they do what they claim?
1/ This is the most obvious one to find trusted Mediums….testimonials. It is a good start but any friend, family member or someone that owes someone a favour can leave a good review on Google or Facebook (other search engines and social platforms available) claiming that the were the best Medium that ever lived. You need something more tangible. Do some research and contact someone that has used the Mediums services before. You can never beat word of mouth recommendations.
2/ A TV Medium is great….view-able ‘proof’. A Medium that does ‘the circuit’…..GREAT….they are a professional. Don’t just take the word from anyone claiming they are a Medium without something to back it up as it could lead to a very expensive experience with someone that simply has voices in their head.
3/ A website. Whilst anyone can create a website with little or no money nowadays, it should at least be a professional looking website with multiple verifiable testimonials and pictures (or/and video’s) showing the Medium doing what they say they can do. As such, it separates the ‘men from the boy’s’ and at least will give an indication as to whether they are just playing around with spirit communication or they are a professional or not.
4/ Gut feeling. What ‘vibe’ do you get from the supposed Medium? We are all equipped with intuition and gut feelings….use these resources more! How do they come across to you….genuine? If you ‘smell a rat’, they usually are. Yes, this applies to most trade workers but as much as I mentioned charging fees earlier, is it an excessive amount charged and inline with others. Do they look like they are charging a high amount with the sole intention to make a ‘quick buck’ out of a willing victim wanting just to make contact with a dear departed soul. A charge to make a living….yes. Charging an amount to near enough rob you….no.
Whether or not they are contacting the dead is a long debate which I will cover in a later post. The conclusion you can only make once they have presented their evidence. Is the evidence that is purporting to be communication with your departed loved one, family member or friend genuine….only you will really know.
